Bòfré is a music collective founded on the island of Ilha Grande, Brazil.

Comprised of traveling musicians on the island from multiple countries, the

group was brought together by a love for a nomadic lifestyle and unique music

experiences. And with the Ilha Grande EP comes the group’s debut, with five

tracks recorded in Rio de Janeiro with the legendary Afrojazz group.

These five tracks are a breath of fresh air; warm, tropical air and rooted in

Brazilian percussion.

First up is the title track Ilha Grande which really sets the

tone with an upbeat pop meets afrobeat vibe. Get ready to dance along with

Find My Love as the horns and catchy hook take over this equal parts Michael

Franti and Paul Simon feel-good anthem. There’s a slice of global reggae fueled

by Brazilian riddims on Take Time, a percussion-heavy groove. Finally, grab

your guitar, invite some girls and enjoy the good vibes In The Sun, a sweet surf

tune inspired by Northeastern Brazilian sounds. The fifth track is a remix of Find

My Love remixed in the same production studio, having some fun with the track

and making an even more infectious beat and dance-friendly groove.

During the pandemic, the project relocated to Miami, FL, which allowed for

collaborations with Latin and Caribbean musicians based in South FL, while still

working remotely with musicians and creators around the world. Allow the

tropical vibes of these tracks to transport you to your favorite beach, and feel

the sun wash over you. This is only the beginning for Bòfré, with more exciting

music, shows, and collaborations coming in 2023.
